Lola Liivat is one of the first female painters in Estonia to embrace the abstract language of art in the 1960s and to develop her own romantic style of expression. Influenced by the rhythmically pulsating language of abstract expressionism, Liivat created a baroque dynamic style of painting that generalizes natural experiences, presents forms in their movements and emphasizes mood. The mood is expressed in the paintings of Livat with its colorful paintings and striking intensity of intense tones.
